Your dream wedding on a budget, really is possible.

Not all brides are bridezillas… and not all weddings are savings-draining extravaganzas. It is possible to have a dream wedding with all — or enough — of the trimmings on a down-to-earth budget.

In the video below Sarah Uslan, celebrity Make-up artist shows how do your own make up professionally allowing you to save several hundred dollars. If you have a big bridal party, share the video with your bridesmaids so they can do their own. It’s best to do a trial makeup before the day to ensure the look you had in mind including the tones and colours is what you expected. It’s important to remember a couple of things.

On the day of your wedding you will be in a beautiful dress or gown and the makeup needs to match. By this I mean, if you do a practice makeup and your dressed in your jeans and a t-shirt at the time, your first reaction will be to think…”wow that’s an awful lot of makeup, perhaps I should tone it down a bit on the day” because the makeup does not match the clothing. From a photography point of view this is also important as the lighting condition will vary throughout the day and night, it is important to have sufficient make up on as photography tends to reduce the efficacy of the makeup. In other words your photographic images will have a tendency to show up less makeup than lf you were looking at yourself in a mirror.

This is where a professional makeup artist can really be a great addition to your wedding budgeting. They will know what looks good on camera as well as to yourself when you are walking up the aisle!
