One common mistake couples sometimes make – Not working out your budget properly
If you don’t know how much you’ve really got to spend then you’ll quickly end up over-budget and in debt. I’ve seen this so many times
from brides and it’s not exactly the perfect way to start married life.

You need to work out in detail how much money you’ll be able to save between now and your wedding day and then (this is vital!) reduce the
amount you’ll have saved by 10%. This will give you a ‘back up’ amount in case of anything unexpected.

So for example, if your budget is $20,000 then your real budget needs to be $18,000 giving you a ‘buffer’ of $2000. And if you
don’t break into that buffer then you’ll have an extra $2000 to spend on honeymoon!

Plan for the unexpected and then be pleasantly surprised when the unexpected doesn’t happen or doesn’t cost your whole “buffer” amount
